Why We Built This

We got tired of digging through cluttered apps and ad-filled websites just to do a quick exposure calculation. Every photographer has been there: you're in the field, golden hour is fading, and you need to know your ND filter settings now.

Photography Tools was built to solve that problem. Fast, clean calculators that work on any device, with no accounts, no app downloads, and no guesswork about what assumptions are being made.

Our Philosophy

  • Transparent assumptions. Every calculator shows exactly what formulas and values it uses. No black boxes.
  • Mobile-first. These tools are designed to work in the field, on your phone, even with one hand.
  • No fluff. We don't pad pages with 2000 words of SEO content before you can use the tool. The calculator comes first.
  • Shareable results. Every calculation can be shared via URL. Send your settings to a friend or save them for later.

Who's Behind This

Photography Tools is built and maintained by working photographers who use these calculators ourselves. We're based in Sweden but the tools work worldwide (and yes, we support both metric and imperial units where it matters).
